The Devlopment of this game

Forest Kids started as an idea when I was given a college assignment to create a board game. I was eager to start thinking of ideas, so I created a mind map to think about how my board game works, using different concepts and ideas to create something interesting.

after thinking of the ideas, I then start making the game by writing the rules and the design for the board and the characters

for the characters, I decided to use the first design I think of for each character, with Fawn being the first that I designed, then Leveret, then Joey and lastly Cub, who has a more differcult design since I couldn't choose which animal he should be, in the end, I decided to make him a bear, after I got my designs, I create the designs arround the characters.

I also have to think about how the game works more than how the game will look, so I created card designs and give an idea for the board's layout, the images on the right are my concepts of the cards and board

the most important thing about the cards that it's clear and easy to read, which is why I had to make sure the cards are big clear to see, once I'm happy about how the cards are, I then think about the concepts for the cards then make the design.

For the board, I had to make sure the board is in separate squares to give each spacing for the player holders to move around, I also have to think of the number of spaces and measure each part to make sure there's enough space for the board, this was the most difficult part in the whole project, but once it's done I then create the board.

Once everything is done, all that's left is to put it all on Tabletop Simulator, which was simple enough as I had to copy and paste my designs onto the game's custom templates, which I've done with the board, the character placements, the cards and even a 6-sided dice. all to be prepared for publishing on the Steam Workshop.
